SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz announced today the team’s seven-game 2015 preseason schedule which will feature three home games at EnergySolutions Arena. The team will start the preseason with two games against the Los Angeles Lakers in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Oct. 4 and Oct. 6. The first opportunity for Jazz fans to see the team play in Salt Lake City will come Oct. 12 when the team hosts the Portland Trail Blazers in the first of two preseason meetings. In addition, Utah will also face the Phoenix Suns, Oklahoma City Thunder and Denver Nuggets.
Utah will open the preseason against the Lakers at Stan Sheriff Center on the campus at the University of Hawaii, marking the first time the Jazz have played in Hawaii since playing a pair of games in Honolulu during the 1993 preseason (also against the Lakers). Utah will then play at Phoenix on Oct. 9 before returning home to face the Trail Blazers on Oct. 12 in the preseason home opener. Utah will also play one game at Portland on Oct. 18 before playing their final two games of the preseason at EnergySolutions Arena against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Oct. 20 and the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 22
This year’s schedule marks the fifth time in six years that the Jazz will host three preseason games in Salt Lake City. The 2010 preseason was the first time this ever occurred, and was the first time since 2001 that the team played three preseason games in the state of Utah.
Four of the five teams on the 2015 preseason schedule were also on last season’s preseason schedule. This will mark the eighth straight preseason (2008-present) that the Jazz and the Trail Blazers will meet twice, including the abbreviated two-game 2011 preseason. The Jazz will also be meeting the Lakers for the 13th and 14th times since 2005 (played nine of the last 11 preseasons). Utah will face Oklahoma City for the fourth straight preseason dating back to the 2012-13 season. The Jazz will play the Suns for the second consecutive preseason.
Tickets for the 2015 preseason will go on sale Friday, July 31 at 10 a.m. at utahjazz.com, the EnergySolutions Arena box office, or by phone at (801) 355-SEAT.
The broadcast information will be released at a later date.
