SALT LAKE CITY (November 25, 2024) – For the 26th year, the Larry H. Miller Company and the Miller family invited those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity in Salt Lake City to the Season of Service event for a free Thanksgiving meal and services.

This year, hundreds of volunteers from the Larry H. Miller Company and the Miller family, along with community partners, gathered at the Salt Palace and served 5,000 Thanksgiving meals to guests. Two dozen organizations provided additional support and community resources, such as dental cleanings, vision screenings and mental health resources.

“Our family has hosted this event for many years, and I look forward to it each season,” said Steve Miller, trustee of the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation and board chair of the Larry H. Miller Company. “Season of Service is more than providing a meal for one night; it’s about extending hope and light into our community. I’m proud to carry on this tradition, and I hope it inspires everyone to give back and reminds those in need that they are not alone.”

The Larry H. Miller organization also hosted a clothing drive during October and November. Employees from the Larry H. Miller Company, the Miller family, Larry H. Miller Real Estate, Miller Sports + Entertainment, Larry H. Miller Senior Health and Prestige Financial Services donated new and gently used clothing for guests, which was distributed by the Salt Lake City Mission.

“Service and community enrichment are at the heart of everything we do at the Larry H. Miller Company,” said Steve Starks, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Company. “We’re grateful for the numerous partners who provide valuable resources and connections for our guests who are facing unique challenges.”

Salt Lake City Mayor Erin Mendenhall and Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson were also in attendance, alongside various Utah public officials and community leaders, for a night of service. Guests at the event were served a traditional Thanksgiving meal, including turkey, ham, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, vegetables, dinner rolls and a dessert.
