The Salt Lake Bees will begin the home schedule of their 2015 season on Friday, April 17 at 6:35 p.m. Opening Night at Smith’s Ballpark will feature a postgame fireworks show and a magnetic schedule giveaway at the door presented by Western Governors University. The homestand concludes on Friday, April 24 with one of the most anticipated giveaways of the 2015 season. The Bees will honor former Salt Lake pitcher and 2014 American League Rookie of the Year runner-up Matt Shoemaker with Beard Appreciation Night. The first 2,000 fans through the gates will receive a Shoemaker beard beanie presented by Diamond Airport Parking. The Bees will also be giving away a $500 cash prize to the fan with the best beard as judged by the Bees Instagram followers. KJZZ 14 will broadcast the first of five televised games during the 2015 season on Saturday, April 18. ‘The Voice of the Bees’ Steve Klauke will call the action and will be joined in the booth by former Major League pitcher and Salt Lake City native Jared Fernandez. The broadcast begins at 6:30 p.m. and is available in high definition (HD). The first homestand of the season gives fans their first chance at the Bees season-long promotions. Monday nights are Smith’s Family Night where fans can purchase four tickets and four hot dogs for $20 at Smith’s; kids 12-and-under eat free on Kellogg’s Kids Eat Free Tuesday; Wednesday nights are Wienerschnitzel $1 hot dogs; drinks are $2.75 on Thirsty Thursday; and kids 12 and under can run the bases on Friday and Saturday night with the SNAP Postgame Kid’s Run. The Bees play Sacramento on April 17-20 and Fresno on April 21-24.
