Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Lynda Jeppesen, will be honored today as one of Utah’s “30 Women to Watch” at an awards ceremony hosted by Utah Business Magazine. The ceremony, held at The Grand America Hotel, honors 30 of Utah’s most dynamic women who have shown leadership, achieved professional success, given back to the community, and impacted their company, industry, and Utah’s economy.
Jeppesen will receive the award for her role in championing the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (LHM Group) health and wellness program “Fit for the Future,” which was developed during a time when few companies embraced the health and wellness concept. The plan’s focus on preventive care and holistic wellbeing has enabled the LHM Group to keep insurance rates for employees steady for three years.
Jeppesen joined the LHM Group in 2001, and serves as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) officer for the Group, and is responsible for all employee benefits, company policies, employment law, company training and employee relations. She is a member of the Health System Reform Task Force for the Salt Lake Chamber, which focuses on helping businesses navigate the changes resulting from the Affordable Care Act.
Prior to LHM Group, Jeppesen worked in the health insurance industry and owned a managerial consulting business. An accomplished author, she published “Sales Service Success” in 1996. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, and a Master of Business Administration from Westminster College. She also holds the Senior Professional in Human Resource designation.
