SANDY, UT (January 17, 2022) – The Larry H. Miller Group of Companies (LHM Group), in conjunction with the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), awarded the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies Education Scholarship today during the 38th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Luncheon at the Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
Zharia Davis was presented with a $5,000 scholarship from LHM Group vice president of People & Culture Michelle Smith and NAACP Salt Lake Branch president Jeanetta Williams.
Davis, a senior from Itineris Early College High School, plans to attend the University of Utah. She is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in student government. Davis has participated in a variety of community service projects, including working with her church to distribute more than 10,000 boxes of food to Kearns residents who were in need during the pandemic and helping her school collect hygiene items for refugees.
More than 20 years ago, Larry H. Miller set in motion a partnership with the NAACP Salt Lake Branch to provide an annual scholarship. Each year, the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies Education Scholarship winner is announced at the branch’s annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Memorial Luncheon. The $5,000 scholarship reflects the LHM Group’s commitment to supporting the community, building bridges, and enriching lives.
