For New LHM President, NBA Title Contention for Jazz is Priority One

His new office is still sparsely decorated, but for Steve Starks, the building is already packed with memories. His new desk inside EnergySolutions Arena isn’t all that far from the nosebleed seat on the last row of the upper deck where he watched Game 3 of the 1997 NBA Finals with his father.

And as the new president of Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment surveys the new challenges and landscape in front of him, the thought of being able to help the Utah Jazz succeed where that ’97 team fell short crosses his mind regularly.

“It’s no secret that we want to build a consistent championship-caliber team,” Starks said. “Our ultimate goal is to raise a banner. I wake up in the morning thinking about how we do that.”
