Utah is the state of sport, and the Larry H. Miller Company is proud to partner with the Deseret News for the 2nd annual High School Sports Awards honoring student-athletes from across the Beehive State.
Every year, hundreds of student-athletes and their families gather with teammates, coaches, and parents from different schools in Utah to celebrate their achievements and dedication to their chosen sport.
In addition to the established Mr. and Mrs. awards for the 23 sanctioned sports in Utah, this was the first year honoring coaches, male volleyball players and female cheerleaders.
Student-athletes who have also shown a dedication to humanitarian and service work were honored with the inaugural Humanitarian of the Year awards and we’re presented with a check from America First Credit Union.
At the ceremony, Michelle Smith, president of Miller Sports + Entertainment, spoke on behalf of the Larry H. Miller Company, and emphasized the power sports have to shape communities and community members into passionate, caring individuals.
“The lessons I learned, and the skills I gained through high school sports prepared me for the game of life, my most important role as a mother, and my career. It is the power that will continue with you well beyond each win, each season, and each year.” – Michelle Smith
Utah is the state of sport, and it starts here with these dedicated student-athletes. We look forward to continue being their biggest fans, and their future teammates as they enrich lives.
