The Larry H. Miller Company is helping welcome refugees as they resettle in Utah. We thank our associates who have embraced the opportunity to enrich the lives of our new neighbors and friends as they establish their homes in our communities.
Utah will resettle 885 Afghans by mid-February 2022, and an additional 1,200 refugees from around the world will arrive in 2022. We can help by donating to the Utah Afghan Community Fund or reaching out to these organizations to learn about ways to volunteer.
In December 2021, the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation donated $100,000 to the Utah Afghan Community Fund to help support refugee resettlement efforts. This donation will help purchase food, clothing, household items, and medical supplies for newly arrived refugees.

The Gail Miller Women’s Leadership Group welcomed Naja Pham Lockwood and Asha Parekh from Refugee Services and Utah Afghan Community Fund for an important discussion about their efforts to help settle hundreds of Afghan refugees in Utah. To celebrate the spirit of the holiday season and form new friendships, associates of the LHM Company joined with 19 refugee families from Afghanistan, Somalia, Congo, and other African nations who resettled in Utah. Attendees also wrote note cards to welcome new refugees who will resettle in Utah in the coming months. Rather than purchase traditional holiday office gifts for each other, the Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres leadership team donated blankets for 300 refugees arriving in Utah.
In November, Heidi Miller, wife of Greg Miller, hosted an event to celebrate the life of her mother, Sherry Black. Friends, family, and associates of the LHM Group joined to lend their hands and sew 30 quilts to help welcome refugees from Afghanistan to their new homes.
